Kim Thompson began her yoga journey in college in 2009, after a childhood of dancing and nurturing a love for mindful movement. She continued to explore a personal yoga practice throughout college and graduated from Liberty University in 2013 with a degree in accounting. As Kim entered the business world and moved further into a career in administration and accounting, she began to feel even more drawn to yoga - seeking to find balance in work and life. Kim completed her 200-hour teacher training at Zenya Yoga Academy in Newport News, VA in 2017 and began teaching right away. She felt an enormous need to share not only the physical asana practice of yoga, but also to introduce the wisdom of yoga to her community. To pass on the knowledge and power of mindfulness, meditation and yoga philosophy. Her teaching journey began with a wonderful group of dancers ages 10-18 at a local dance studio in Yorktown, VA. Now Kim also teaches Vinyasa style yoga classes at Garden of Zen in Yorktown as well as on site at New Kent Winery. She also offers private and semi-private sessions. Kim lives in Poquoson, VA and enjoys spending time with her husband, pets (one dog and two cats), friends and family.
