Kelli Thomas

I first started practicing yoga in 2008 when I was pregnant with my son. Immediately I was hooked because of how great I felt. My lower back pain released, stress diminished and the overall positive energy made me realize I need AND want yoga in my life.
In June 2010 I reached a pivotal point in my life when I felt the need to explore what I love and what makes me happy in life.  At that time I was able to leave the mortgage industry to pursue my passion of becoming a yoga instructor.
August 2010 I started training with Master Adam Nguyen at the International Yoga Institute in Virginia Beach. As my practice deepened, so did my love for yoga and I couldn't wait to begin instructing and guiding others in their practice.  Dedication to my practice and desire to continually better myself as a teacher has quickly made me a yoga aficionado.

Currently the struggle of holding down a career, parenting 2 kids solo can make it difficult to make it to the mat.  I get it, time goes by fast, we are all busy, BUT life is short,  there is no rewind.  Coming together on our mats, if only for a short time, I hope to bring others peace, happiness, and mindfulness.

The LOVE I found in BUTI yoga came last year when I desired something more from my practice.  The beat-blended movement forced me out of my head and into my body.  It's my escape where I immediately feel awakened and powerful.  Building the tribe in Norfolk and beyond has been one of the more satisfying journeys yet!
