I began practicing yoga in 2008 as a way to manage my stress and to stay fit. Since the beginning, I had a true love for yoga and incorporated it into my daily life and especially during my time on my college rugby team. But it wasn’t until 2016 when a close friend gave me the push to obtain my 200 YTT from Zen Hot Yoga. As a bigger bodied woman, I had to find ways to work around my body so I could get the most out of my practice and learn to love my body at any size. From there I made it my mission to help others find their way onto a path of self love. My dream is to see people of every size come to the mat without self judgement and know that they are capable of a yoga practice and feeling true love for themselves.
I am a college graduate with a B.A. in History where I specialize in the History of Gender Politics and Pre World War I technology. My favorite place to practice is in the comfort of my home with my baby. But when I am not in my favorite asana I am spending my time with my husband, my daughter, and my dog Bowie. We love weekend trips to the Outerbanks and playing outside as a family!
